Inspired by the writings of W.E.B. DuBois, this book was written and designed in collaboration with Victor Moore during the 2016 presidential election. The first chapter attempts to shed light on complex topics surrounding critical race theory, while the second chapter collects the experiences of several minority students living on the predominately white campus of Appalachian State University. The election produced a large number of brazen instances of racism and harassment on campus. In interviewing these students, my collaborator and I were able to expose a shared narrative that illustrated the racism our peers endure on a daily basis.
